All 77,000 tickets for singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi’s (UK) Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent arena tour, scheduled for March 2020, reportedly sold out just minutes after going on sale at 9 a.m. on 26 April 2019. One month later, on 17 May 2019, Capaldi released his chart-topping debut album, after which the tour is named.
The BBC Sound of 2018 and BRIT Critics’ Choice Award 2019 nominee built up a loyal fanbase with the No.1 single “Someone You Loved”, which completed a seven-week run at the top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart shortly before tickets for the Divinely… tour went on sale in April 2019. “Someone…” also went to No.1 in tour destinations Scotland and Ireland. Glaswegian Capaldi subsequently made the Top 10 with “Hold Me While You Wait” and “Grace”, with the re-issued “Bruises”, originally released in 2017 from his debut EP, “Bloom”, climbing to No.11 on the UK chart dated 10 October 2019.
As of 9 October 2019, Capaldi’s 10-date arena tour was scheduled to visit Manchester (O2 Apollo), Glasgow (SSE Hydro), Dublin (3Arena), Cardiff (Motorpoint Arena), London (SSE Arena, Wembley) and Aberdeen (P&J Live) between 2 and 15 March 2020.
