The oldest person to swim the length of Loch Ness in Scotland, UK, is Pat Gallant-Charette (USA, b. 2 February 1951) who was aged 67 years 198 days when she completed the 37-kilometre (22.9-mile) swim on 19 August 2018. Starting at Lochend at 5.26 a.m. (BST), she finished at Fort Augustus at 19.12 p.m. – a duration of 13 hours 45 minutes 45 seconds. The swim was completed under the rules of the Marathon Swimmers Federation and is endorsed by the World Open Water Swimming Association.

Her Loch Ness swim was the second leg in a wider challenge known as the Triple Crown of Lake Monster Swims (aka the "Cryptozoological Triple Crown"), which involves traversing three lakes that are renowned for harbouring a mythical beast: Loch Ness in Scotland, UK ("Nessie"/"Loch Ness Monster"); Lake Tahoe on the California-Nevada border, USA ("Tessie"/ "Tahoe Tessie"); and Lake Memphremagog straddling the border of Vermont, USA, and Quebec, Canada ("Memphre"). Pat also holds the record of being the oldest person to complete this challenge, aged 68 years 180 days on 1 August 2019.
