The most crossings of the Catalina Channel under Catalina Channel Swimming Federation regulations is seven, achieved by Hank Wise (USA) on 14 October 2018 when he crossed the 32.3-kilometre (20-mile) Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the southern California mainland (USA) in 7 hours 55 minutes 6 seconds.
His 14 October 2018 swim is the fastest Catalina-to-mainland crossing completed by a male, surpassing the previous best of 8:05:44 set by Todd Robinson on 25 August 2009.
