His swim time was 52 minutes 57 seconds.


This surpassed Ger Purcell (Ireland, b. 18 January 1955), who was aged 66 years 12 days when he swam an Ice Mile in Limerick, Ireland, on 30 January 2021.

The oldest female (and person overall) to complete an Ice Mile to date is Jerrie Roberts (UK, b. 26 June 1950), who was aged 73 years 158 days when she swam in the 2.68°C (36.8°F) waters of Loch Morlich in the Scottish Highlands, UK, on 1 December 2023. Her swim was completed in 54 minutes 43 seconds.
