The fastest time to clear a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos (team of two) is 5.80 seconds and was achieved by Peter and David Rush (USA) in Boise, Idaho, USA, on 12 November 2025.

Peter and David worked together to achieve this Guinness World Records title. As per the guidelines, they were only allowed to use one finger throughout the entire attempt while the other hand was kept behind the back. By working in unison, the team managed to clear out the entire game in less than 6 seconds!

Interestingly enough, in the original 1978 version of the Hungry Hungry Hippo game, each hippo was named. Their four names were Lizzie (purple), Henry (orange), Homer (green), and Harry (yellow). This is one of the most beloved fast-paced board games globally; there are also giant variations of the game- even one made life-sized, where people ride scooters to collect balls like the hippos seen here.
