The longest slackline walk made while blindfolded was 1,712 m (5,615 ft), achieved by Alexander Schulz (Germany) over Cañón del Sumidero in Chiapas, Mexico, on 30 December 2021. The slackline was positioned at a height of 800 m (2,624 ft).
The rigging was fixed with the help of a drone, and it took the Bavarian daredevil an hour and a quarter to cross the canyon - but only after two years of careful planning with the help of teams in Germany and Mexico. He was met at the Los Chiapa viewpoint by the Governor of Chiapas, Rutilio Escandón Cadenas. The 1.7-km crossing doubled Schulz's personal best for a non-blindfolded walk!
