On 20 March 2019, Twitch streamer "The Happy Hob" completed what he had dubbed "The God Run" – the no-hit completion of the "Soulsborne" games, developed by From Software. He began his assault on the near impossible challenge on 18 March 2019, taking on the games in the order: Bloodborne (Sony, 2015), Dark Souls 2 (Bandai Namco, 2014), Dark Souls (Bandai Namco, 2011), Demon’s Souls (Atlus, Sony, Bandai Namco 2014) and Dark Souls 3 (Bandai Namco, 2016). Upon defeating Dark Souls 3's final boss, he screamed “Soulsborne no-hit run! We did it!” Before bursting into tears of relief, hugging his dog and thanking his viewers, as well as his girlfriend.

Fall damage is allowed during a no-hit run as it allows players to take necessary shortcuts and enable magical items – such as Dark Souls 3's Red Tearstone Ring – which increase damage when playing with low health.
