The oldest medallist at the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) Alpine Ski World Championships is Johan Clarey (France, b. 8 January 1981), who won a silver medal in the men’s super-G race aged 38 years 29 days on 6 February 2019 in Åre, Sweden.

Clarey won his first World Championship medal in the super-G discipline, having focused for much of his career on the downhill – in which he holds the record for fastest speed achieved, 161.9 km/h (100.6 mph), recorded on 19 January 2013.
