First barometric weather implant

Cyborg artist Manel Muñoz from Barcelona, Spain, has a barometer implant that allows him to forecast the weather. The device, which was first installed in 2017, consists of a chip, attached to the back of Muñoz's head, that allows him to sense changes in the atmosphere that occur when the weather changes. The first prototype of the device used transmitters in his ears that vibrated depending on whether the atmospheric pressure was high or low. An updated version transmits vibrations directly through Muñoz's skull using miniature motors. If the left side of Muñoz's head vibrates, it means there is a low pressure weather system, which can indicate storms, and a vibration on the right side indicates a low pressure system, which indicates fine weather.

A wi-fi connection means that Muñoz can sense conditions from weather stations anywhere in the world, and he is developing a more advanced weather-sensing implant that will alert him not only to changes in pressure, but also humidity and temperature.

Muñoz is the founder of the Transpecies Society (est. 2017), which supports people who do not identify as 100% human.
