Though the term was coined in Mario Galaxy, for a giant ship shaped after Mario's face, the 'Faceship' has long been the desired mode of transport for the more egotistical superhero/villain. In gaming however, Samus Aran was the first to jumpstart the trend, with her gunship (a giant replica of her helmet) appearing in 1991's Metroid II: Return of Samus.
