The hallmarks of director Hideki Kamiya were first seen in Resident Evil 2, evident through both the actions and performances of Leon and Claire. Kamiya would later direct Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, and Ōkami for Capcom before going on to co-found Platinum Games. It was Kamiya’s idea to have separate storylines for his protagonists, leading to the innovative “Zapping System”, which required two CDs to contain that amazing overlapping narrative.
