First solo act to occupy top three positions simultaneously on US singles chart

Ariana Grande (USA) had the No.1 (“7 Rings”), No.2 (“Break up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored”) and No.3 (“Thank U, Next”) tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 dated 23 February 2019. Grande was the first solo artist – and the second act overall – to monopolize the chart’s top three positions in a single week since the Hot 100 was first published on 4 August 1958. The Beatles (UK) achieved it for five weeks between 14 March and 25 April 1964.

“7 Rings” spent a fourth week at No.1 on 23 February, while “Break up…” debuted at No.2 and former chart-topper “Thank U, Next” climbed to No.3 from No.7. All three tracks are taken from Grande’s record-shattering Thank U, Next album, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on 23 February 2019.
