On the Billboard Hot 100 dated 23 February 2019, Ariana Grande (USA) had 11 tracks in the Top 40 – all but one of the songs from her No.1 album Thank U, Next. As well as occupying the top three positions with “7 Rings”, “Break up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” and “Thank U, Next”, Grande debuted with “Needy” (No.14), “NASA” (No.17), “Imagine” (No.21), “Bloodline” (No.22), “Ghostin” (No.25), “Fake Smile” (No.26), “Bad Idea” (No.27) and “In My Head” (No.38).

Cardi B, with nine Top 40 entries on 21 April 2018 (the week her Invasion of Privacy album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200), held the previous record for a female artist on the Hot 100. On that occasion, only one of the nine tracks (“I Like It”, at No.8) was inside the Top 10.

Drake’s 21 simultaneous Top 40 tracks on 14 July 2018 (the week his Scorpion album debuted at No.1) remains the overall record for the Hot 100. With entries at No.1, No.2 and No.4 that week, Drake almost set a precedent for Grande’s solo-artist domination of the top three positions on 23 February 2019.

The only track from Thank U, Next to debut outside the Top 40 on 23 February 2019 was “Make Up” at No.48.
