Before Disney created Steamboat Willie (being the debut of Mickey Mouse) the studio’s first anthropomorphic star was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit – or simply Oswald Rabbit. Long story short, Oswald Rabbit had his own series, but wound up being adopted by Universal Studios. Disney created Mickey Mouse to be Oswald’s rival. This rivalry became the theme for Disney Interactive Studios’ bold Epic Mickey franchise, which debuted in 2010 on the Nintendo Wii.
