Owing to licensing issues, several games featuring Mickey Mouse have required thematic tweaks in order to see release worldwide. In 1992, Japanese developer/publisher Kemco created Mickey Mouse III: Yume Fuusen for the Nintendo Famicom (NES). However, owing to copyright issues in the US, the whole narrative was changed, characters replaced, and the game became Kid Klown in Night Mayor World, released in 1993 in the USA for NES. This is nothing compared to the several switcheroos imposed on Kemco’s 1993 Game Boy quest Mickey Mouse IV: Mahō no Labyrinth, which became The Real Ghostbusters for America, and Garfield Labyrinth in Europe. Same basic game. Three incarnations. Unprecedented.
