The largest letterpress printing machine is "The People Powered Press", measuring 1.36 m² (14 ft 96 in²), and was achieved by Split Design Ltd & JKN OilTools (both UK) in Leeds, UK, on 15 April 2019.

The People Powered Press was built for Split Design Ltd as part of These Northern Types—a project exploring northern identity through type design. Split takes the words of locals and turns them into giant prints which can then be taken back to their communities and displayed there, amplifying their voices and affording them a sense of ownership of their own creativity.

A series of giant posters were printed onto paper measuring 1575 mm x 1065 mm, using the full dimensions of the press’s print area, 941 mm x 1450 mm.
