Over 13 million PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) accounts were banned by developer Bluehole from June 2017 to October 2018 according to stats at its Official Korean PUBG Cafe website. More were added to that list in December when the South Korean game-maker booted another 30,000 from the game, including a number of pro eSport players.
The bans have mostly targetted players who use third-party software to locate their competitors on the PUBG map – a huge advantage considering how critical the element of surprise is to victory.
