The most titles won at the ISU World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships by a male athlete is 21, achieved by Sven Kramer (Netherlands) between 2007 and 2020. This is also the overall record.

Kramer has won eight titles at 5,000 m (2007–09, 2012–13, 2015–17), five at 10,000 m (2007–09, 2016–17) and eight in the team pursuit (2007–09, 2012–13, 2015 and 2019–20). The ISU World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships were instituted in 1996. Kramer won his 21st gold as part of the victorious Dutch team pursuit on 15 February 2020, who set a world record in the process. He has also won three silvers and two bronze at the championships.
