Development studio IO Interactive and publisher Square Enix also blazed a trail with the Hitman: Sniper Challenge, released in May 2012. This free to download, fully-featured mission starring Agent 47 was a pre-order bonus for Hitman Absolution, in which player progress impacted the content of the main game that launched the following November. In addition to weapons and upgrades unlocked for Hitman: Absolution, players could also view their performance against others via online global Leaderboards. The fastest undetected playthrough was achieved by "Markon" on 1 February 2019, verified via speedrun.com, with a time of 59 seconds and 390 milliseconds.
