On 28 July 2018, Wendy Tuck (Australia) led her Sanya Serenity Coast team across the finish line in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK, to win the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2017–18. The 11-month race had crossed six oceans and covered 40,000 nautical miles (74,080 km; 46,031 miles).

"I don't think it's about being a woman," Tuck said afterwards. "It's just 'do what I do'. But I am very proud and even prouder of my team. They are the ones that did all the work and considering many had never sailed before, what they have accomplished is incredible."

The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race was first staged in 1996. Competitors race in identical yachts, with amateur crew members led by qualified skippers. Sanya Serenity Coast beat into second place Visit Seattle, who also had a female skipper, Nikki Henderson.
