A life of crime comes with certain risks in Red Dead Redemption 2 and unlawful activity on Arthur Morgan's part runs the risk of attracting both the eye of the law and a price on his head. As Arthur's bounty increases, so does that chance that a gang of bounty hunters will turn up, guns blazing, eager to take Arthur down and claim his bounty for themselves.

On 29 October 2018, Just a few days after the Red Dead Redemption 2's release, gamer Dat Saintsfan uploaded footage to You Tube demonstrating that maximum bounty Arthur can rack up through criminal behaviour in any of the five states within the game is $1500.

Arthur can choose to pay off any price on his head at any train station, or even, after safely stashing his valuables back at the camp, turn himself in for a few nights in jail.
