The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s career, from his early years in The Jackson 5 until his 1988 Bad tour. For the portrayal of his adult years, the late “King of Pop” is played by his real-life nephew, Jaafar Jackson.
When this record was set, Jaafar posted behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram with the caption: “Highest grossing Biopic of ALL TIME Wow!! Thank you all so much. This record, this accomplishment. It was a dream goal of mine for this film and you all made it real. And I promise you Michael is up there absolutely grinning about this. This one’s for him.”
