In order to enrich the persona of Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell: Blacklist (2013), Ubisoft sought the advice of Kevin Secours, B.Ed., the founder of Integrated Fighting Systems and director of the International Combat Systema Association. Whereas rival stealth-action games have consulted with military professionals on Close Quarter Combat technique, Secours brought to Splinter Cell: Blacklist the combination of Russian Systema, Japanese Jujitsu, Kali, Silat, Kung-Fu, Muay Thai, and more general law enforcement and defensive tactics training. Sam Fisher’s new blade, the Indonesian Karambit, was also recommended to Ubisoft by Secours.
