The Montreal Canadiens (Canada) set an NHL record by scoring two goals in two seconds during their 6-4 victory over the Washington Capitals (USA) at Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, on 1 November 2018. The goals by Max Domi (Canada) and Joel Armia (Finland) were the fastest two goals scored by one team, breaking the mark of three seconds set by the St. Louis Eagles (USA) on 12 March 1935, and tied by the Minnesota Wild (USA) on 21 January 2004, and by the New York Islanders on 30 November 2016. Goals have been scored two seconds apart in two other games—St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins (both USA) on 19 December 1987, and Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets (both USA) on 5 January 2016—but both teams accomplished that. This was the first time by one team.
