Competing at the 2024 IWF World Cup, Juniansyah caused a sensation with a world-record total of 365 kg – comprising lifts of 164 kg in the snatch and 201 kg in the clean & jerk. Juniansyah's victory sealed his place at the 2024 Paris Olympics ahead of compatriot Rahmat Erwin Abdullah – Juniansyah went on to win the Olympic gold medal at 73 kg.
