Most critically acclaimed videogame playable character

With six unique entries in GameRanking.com's list of the top 100 all-time best reviewed videogames as of 26 October 2018, Link from Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda series is the most critically acclaimed playable character – leaving even fellow Nintendo star Mario in his wake. Link's six top-rated games include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (97.54%, 1998, N64); The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (97.33%, 2017, Switch); The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (94.58%, 2006, Wii); The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (94.43%, 2003, GameCube); The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (93.89%, 2011, 3DS); The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (93.15%, 2011, Wii). Nintendo's Super Mario and Konami's Solid Snake are Link's closest competition, with each character having four game's in the top 100. While Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series has the most games in the top 100 overall, with 12 entries – though of course Rockstar's series doesn't feature recurring playable characters.
