The longest marathon playing an oud is 24 hr 30 min, achieved by Saad Mahmood Jawad (Iraq), at the Bahrain National Museum, in Manama, Bahrain, from 15 to 16 December 2018.


The attempt was made at the Manama Doesn't Sleep 2018 event during Bahrain's National Day celebration. An oud is a short-neck lute-type typically pear-shaped string instrument and is commonly used in Middle Eastern and North African music. An oud traditionally has 11 or 13 strings grouped in 5 or 6 courses.
