If you want to buy a new car, Singapore is the most expensive city in the world, according to the 2018 "Mapping the world's prices" report by Deutsche Bank, listing the cost of goods and services in 50 major cities across the globe. Largely as a result of taxes aimed at discouraging car ownership, an average car here will cost $86,412 (£64,359), nearly double of the next most expensive city, Copenhagen at $44,062 (£32,817). New Delhi is the cheapest city, where a typical mid-sized car will cost just $12,066 (£8,987).
