The lowest score in a single round (18 holes) of golf at the PGA Championships is 62, achieved by Xander Schauffele (USA) at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, on 16 May 2024; and equalled by Shane Lowry (Ireland) on 18 May 2024.
Schauffele shot the first-ever round of 62 at the PGA Championships in its 106th edition, draining nine birdies in his opening round. His effort was matched by Lowry just two days later.
Schauffele went on to win the tournament with the lowest score to par in a men’s major: -21.
