Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan, b. 28 March 2001) was 16 years 325 days old when he took a five-for in a One-Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, on 16 February 2018. Four of the spin bowler’s five scalps were bowled, including both Zimbabwe openers, as he finished with figures of five wickets for 50 runs from 10 overs.

Rahman’s team-mate and fellow spinner Rashid Khan (b. 20 September 1998) took five wickets in an ODI four times before his 20th birthday, most notably when he was 18 years 178 days old. Pakistan’s Waqar Younis (b. 16 November 1971) was previously the record holder, aged 18 years 164 days when he took a five-for against Sri Lanka on 29 April 1990.
