Added to Fortnite (2017) on 6 September 2018 in update 5.40, "The Grappler" was the first grappling gun added to Epic's Battle Royale. The gun fires a suction cup attached to a rope, that attaches to walls to allow players to quickly assail vertical structures – including those built by rival players.
