According to the 2018 edition of developer community website Stack Overflow's annual Developer Survey, the most loved programming language is Rust. An impressive 78.9% of respondents who were working with the language said that they wanted to continue to use it in future.
Rust is an open-source systems programming language (i.e. one used to write software that provides a platform for other software, like game engines or operating systems). It was created in 2010, and its development is now sponsored by the Mozilla Foundation. Rust is primarily used in the open source software field, on projects such as Mozilla Firefox web browser and the Redox operating system. Rust has held the top spot in Stack Overflow's rankings for the last three years.
