First solo circumnavigation of Antarctica in a sailboat

On 7 May 2008, Russian Fedor Konyukhov became the first person to complete a solo sailing circumnavigation of Antarctica − he did so as part of the Antarctica Cup Racetrack, along a route that fell between the 45th and 60th parallels south, in 102 days 1 hour 35 minutes 50 seconds (Albany to Albany, Western Australia). The circumnavigation was accomplished under WSSRC rules.
