The largest tape mosaic (image) measures 32.4 m² (348 ft² 108 in²), and was achieved by Sekimoto Elementary School (Japan) in Tamura, Fukushima, Japan, on 23 March 2019.
Sekimoto Elementary School closed on the day of the attempt after being loved by the locals for 145 years. This challenge was not just to commemorate its last day but to make it memorable for both the students and the alumni. They used 51,200 strips of tapes in total and seven of the last strips were placed by the 5th graders.
