The most FIFA World Cup appearances with the same national team by a coach is 4, achieved by Walter Winterbottom (UK) managing England at the 1950, 1954, 1958 and 1962 World Cup’s. This was equalled by Helmut Schön (Germany) managing West Germany at the 1966, 1970, 1974 and 1978 World Cup’s. This was again equalled by Óscar Tabárez (Uruguay) managing Uruguay at the 1990, 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cup’s.
Both Winterbottom and Schön managed at four consecutive World Cup tournaments whereas Tabárez took Uruguay to three consecutive editions of the competition.
