The most escape rooms attended in 24 hours is 25 and was achieved by Liese Luijten, Pieterjan Uytterhoeven, Rob Van Esser and Kobe Heleven (all Belgium), in Belgium, on 3-4 October 2020.
Kobe came across this record in an article and asked the rest of the team to join him in his idea of achieving a Guinness World Records title. All the team have previously worked in escape rooms before and are all enthusiastic puzzlers.
The team ensured that the event was well prepared and COVID-safe. They emailed as many escape rooms in their local area as possible and found 25 different escape rooms available for their attempt. They took the time to visit all the owners of the escape rooms to get to know the rules, history and the gamemasters.
