On 21 June 2017, Mojang released the first in a series of Minecraft mini-games for consoles. Called Battle, it was free to play, setting the stage for a Battle Royale-style free-for-all in which eight players compete to be the last standing. Battles take place across a variety of locations, from pirate cove to ancient temple, throughout which players use every weapon, armour, snack and potion at their disposal.
