The oldest female ice hockey medallist at a Winter Olympic Games is Riikka Välilä (Finland, b. 12 June 1973), who played in Finland’s bronze-medal match against the Olympic Athletes from Russia aged 44 years 254 days on 21 February 2018 in Gangneung, South Korea. Finland won 3–2, making Välilä also the oldest medallist in Olympic ice hockey.
Four days earlier, Välilä became the oldest female goalscorer Olympic women’s ice hockey, scoring twice against Sweden aged 44 years 250 days.
