The oldest female ice hockey medallist at a Winter Olympic Games is Riikka Välilä (Finland, b. 12 June 1973), who won bronze with Finland aged 44 years 254 days on 21 February 2018 in Gangneung, South Korea. It was 20 years since she had won her first Olympic medal – also a bronze – at Nagano 1998.


Four days earlier, Välilä became the oldest goalscorer in women's Olympic ice hockey, scoring twice against Sweden aged 44 years 250 days.
