He took home the award in 2007 (La Llave de Mi Corazón), 2010 (A Son de Guerra) and 2015 (Todo Tiene Su Hora) for his own albums, and in 2012 it was his work as producer on Juanes’ MTV Unplugged album that was recognised by the Latin Recording Academy. He was also named Producer of the Year at the 13th Latin Grammys (2012).
Alejandro Sanz (2001-02 and 2004) and Juanes (2003, 2008 and 2012) both have three wins in the Album of the Year category. Performers, producers and engineers/mixers are eligible for the award, which was first presented in 2000 at the 1st Annual Latin Grammy Awards.
