Most Grammy Award wins for Best Tropical Latin Album

Since the category was inaugurated in 1984, Rubén Blades (Panama) has won the Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album (previously Best Tropical Latin Performance) on five occasions. His award-winning albums were: Escenas (1987); Antecedente (with Son del Sonar, 1989); La Rosa de los Vientos (1997); Son de Panamá (with Roberto Delgado & Orquesta, 2016); and Salsa Big Band (with Roberto Delgado & Orquesta, 2018). Blades collected his fifth prize at the 60th staging of the Grammy Awards, which was broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, USA, on 28 January 2018.
