The highest altitude aerial silks performance is 1,090 m (3,576 ft), achieved by Daniela Dragan (Moldova) in Manresa, Spain, on 27 June 2022.

Daniela performed the 5-minute routine suspended from a hot air balloon. She is a qualified and experienced skydiver, so used a parachute to drop at the end of the attempt!

"Aerial dance and skydiving are my two passions which form a big part of my life", she told GWR. "Since I started practicing both, I started to thrive, learned how to live in the moment, enjoy things that I never noticed before. I found true happiness".

The routine had to be coordinated with the rig to avoid the handles and other obstacles. Every manoeuvre was carefully planned out to minimize the risks. "It is stunts like these that is difficult for people to realize how much work is done behind the scenes and truly takes a solid team to pull it off".

Reflecting on the successful attempt, Daniela commented: "I will always remember this project with lots of warmth in my heart. I would really like this stunt to inspire others to pursue their dreams. No matter how difficult and crazy the idea is, there will always be a solution to realize it and a group of friends to help make it happen!"
