With no sequel to Streets of Rage (Sega, 1991) in sight – the last having been produced in 1994 – a Spanish developer referred to as “Bomber Link” decided to produce a remake on 17 March 2003. Eight years later, in 2011, and with around 20 people working on the project, the ambitious game was finally released for free for the PC as Streets of Rage: Remake. It had 103 stages, 19 characters and 64 enemies. But, unfortunately for the makers, Sega pulled the plug on it within a month.
