The US women's team won 18 Fed Cup titles between 1963 and 2017. They claimed seven titles in succession in 1976–82 and have also been runners-up on 11 occasions. Shelby Rogers, 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens and CoCo Vandeweghe contested the 2017 final, against hosts Belarus on 11–12 November, with Vandeweghe winning two singles rubbers and the doubles with Rogers to lead the USA to a 3–2 victory.

Tracy Austin, Jennifer Capriati, Rosie Casals, Lindsay Davenport, Chris Evert, Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Pam Shriver, Serena Williams and Venus Williams are some of the star names to represent the USA in the Fed Cup over the years.

Evert has won more titles than any other player (eight), including two as team captain. Fellow Americans King (seven titles) and Casals (six titles) are second and third on the list.

Darlene Hard, Billie Jean King (then Billie Jean Moffitt) and non-playing member Carole Graebner won the USA's first Fed Cup title, in 1963.

Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic have won 10 Fed Cup titles (1975–2016), followed by Australia with seven wins (1964–74) and Spain with five titles (1991–98).
