David Wagner (USA) won his 22nd major quad doubles title at the 2022 Australian Open, teaming up with Andy Lapthorne to defeat the Dutch pair Sam Schröder and Niels Vink at Melbourne Park on 26 January. At 47, the Californian right-hander was older than the combined age of his opponents, but he and Lapthorne prevailed 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 to secure a 28th Grand Slam triumph in quad doubles and singles combined for the indefatigable American. Wagner’s ninth Australian Open quad doubles title (2008-22) added to his nine titles at the US Open (2007-18), three at the French Open (2019-21) and a solitary Wimbledon success (2021). His six quad singles trophies were won at the Australian Open (2011, 2013-14) and the US Open (2010-11, 2017).

Wagner’s partners for his 22 quad doubles triumphs were Nick Taylor (11), Andy Lapthorne (8), Lucas Sithole (1), Dylan Alcott (1) and Sam Schröder (1).
