The highest power output for a single wind turbine is 16 megawatts. This has been achieved by two designs – the GWH252-16MW, built by Goldwind, and the MySE 16-260, built by Mingyang Smart Energy (both China). The two turbines were commissioned in 2023 on 28 June and 18 July respectively.
Both turbines were commissioned by the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG).
The MySE 16-260 is the largest wind turbine ever made. It has a rotor diameter of 260 m (853 ft), with three 123 m (406 ft) long blades and a 14m (46 ft) diameter hub.
