Using his trusty pickaxe to speedily carve pathways through the game's subterranean environments, gamer "youpalaa" (France) was able to complete the PC version of SteamWorld Dig 2 (Image & Form, 2017) in just 25 minutes 13 seconds – as verified by Speedrun.com. "youpalaa's" any% attempt was achieved on 12 February 2018. The fastest completion of the Switch version of the game was achieved by "GooberShadow" (USA) on 6 October 2017. "GooberShadow" was able to complete the game (any%) in 36 minutes 20 seconds – the fastest time recorded on any console and the 16th fastest time overall.
