The greatest distance ever cycled in a month by a man or a woman is 8,012.5 miles (12,894.87 km), achieved by Amanda Coker (USA) with an average of 267.08 miles (429.82 km) per day between 1 and 30 April 2017. The record was verified by the World UltraCycling Association (previously UltraMarathon Cycling Association).

The record, designated as Highest Monthly Mileage Ridden (or HMMR) by the World UltraCycling Association, was achieved during Amanda's successful bid to set a record for the greatest distance cycled in a year (or Highest Annual Mileage Ridden/HAMR), which she achieved on 14 May 2017, having ridden 86,573.2 miles (139,326.34 km) since 15 May 2016.

In her year-long cycling endeavour, Amanda cycled on the same seven-mile (11.26-km) loop of trails around Flatwoods Park in Tampa, Florida, USA, every day, often for over 12 hours at a time, alternating between a road bike, a recumbent and a triathlon (or “tri”) bike.

The World UltraCycling Association is the leading international organization dedicated to ultracycling. The WUCA governs and certifies record attempts in several categories, including cross-country, cross-state/province as well as fixed-distance attempts (100 miles, 200 miles, 1,000 km) and fixed-time attempts (6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours). Also, the WUCA governs and certifies attempts in two categories called HAMR (Highest Annual Mileage Ridden) and 100,000 Miles, both recognized by Guinness World Records.
