Most critically acclaimed videogame based on Warhammer tabletop board games

As of 6 February 2018, Creative Assembly's fantasy strategy game Total War: Warhammer II (Sega, 2017) was the most critically acclaimed videogame based on the Warhammer fictional universe, with a GameRankings.com aggregate score of 87.26%. The game blends turn-based strategy and real-time tactics, as players try to save (or destroy) the realm as one of four Warhammer races: Lizardmen, High Elves, Dark Elves or Skaven. Total War: Warhammer II has leapt to the top spot of Warhammer-themed games, taking the top-spot from Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Dark Crusade (THQ, 2006).
