Most Golden Joystick "Best Game" awards won by a gaming franchise

The Grand Theft Auto series has won four Golden Joystick Awards for "Best Game". The first was for Grand Theft Auto III in 2002, the second for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2003, the third for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2005 and the fourth for Grand Theft Auto V in 2013. The Golden Joystick Awards is the biggest game award ceremony and also the longest-running, having been formed in 1983. It was into its 35th year in 2017 and the awards are voted for by gamers.

The Grand Theft Auto series has won 21 Golden Joysticks in total, i.e., across all categories. The Witcher series has won nine, and Mario has won 12.

As of November 2017, The Witcher 3 still held the record for Most Golden Joysticks won by a videogame.
